Buckle Replacement: £55. Your kilt buckles can take a beating from all the dancing and from time to time they may need replaced, we’ll hand sew new kilt buckles which will make it feel like new and get you back in the Ceilidh game.
Apron Alteration: £219. This is for big changes in sizing – a lot of people inherit kilts and it may be too small or too big but #welovekilts so we want your kilt to have an even longer life so we’ll get it sorted. It’s a big job but the Kilt Doctor has years of kilt surgery experience!
Repair a Hole: Starting at £65. #welovekilts and just like us, they come with a few battle scars as you don’t wear a kilt to the library!
If you’ve caught your kilt on a Tarrag (Gaelic for nail) then we’ll work our magic and repair it but remember, the Kilt Doctor is a genius, not a miracle worker and some holes may still be visible. We can repair holes up to 15mm.
Kilt Shortening: £65. We always recommend having your kilt hemmed when shortening because they are often a real family heirloom and the next owner might be a little taller. We’ll make sure the hem is almost invisible so it will be exactly the right height. For those of you who want a permanent fit then we can do this too, we’ll cut and finish and kilt to your desired size but remember, kilts are like your hair, we can cut it off but we can’t stick it back on!
Kilt Remake: £395 (£445 for machine-made kilts)- Involves un-picking, recalculating, and re-building kilt from scratch using original fabric.
Tack & Press: £69. Perfect if your borrowing a kilt that’s too long and too crinkly! We’ll tack it too your height/leg length so it sits perfectly and we’ll throw in a press so it looks sharp and ready to wear.
