Can You Tie a Tartan Tie in Any Knot?
Absolutely. If your tie from a kilt is lined and cut to standard dimensions (typically 8–9cm wide at the widest point and around 145cm long), you can use any of the classic knots. The Windsor knot, known for its wide, symmetrical shape, pairs beautifully with formal attire and allows the tartan to be fully displayed.
However, because tartan fabric is often thicker than standard silk or polyester ties, some knots may be bulkier than expected. In these cases:
